We cruised into Moama and before we settled down for the night with a cuppa, we had a look at the greens at the nearby Moama Bowling Club. Big club, 4 tiff greens, little disease in them like most we saw on the tour. 8am saw us leave for Rich River BC. There were 3 tiff greens, one of which was recently drilled. They were good greens, we didn’t get a chance to talk to the greenkeeper. Echuca BC was our next stop where we met the greenkeeper Jade Bennett. The greens had a bit of disease (brown patch) in them and Jade explained to us that they were stressed out bad six years ago and he still gets scaring throughout the winter, which disappears in the summer. The greens were good and Jade was great to talk to and happy to share a lot of info. On our way home we called into Rochester where we were grateful for the morning tea Jim Lawford provided for us. Jim makes all the concrete ditches for bowling greens and the set up he had was impressive. The tour was great. All the green keepers we met along the way were more than happy to share their secrets. We saw a lot of good greens that were affected badly by the floods that are now in top condition, except for our last stop we made to Creswick BC. Their two synthetic greens were destroyed by the floods at the start of the year and are far from playable. Many thanks must go to Simplot and K&B Adams for their generosity and ongoing support of the tour. MORE PICS Available on our FACEBOOK Page. At Bridgewater BC Kerang BC Swan Hill BC Kerang BC
