Text Box: New Surface
Text Box: ATTENTION ALL VGA MEMBERS

As you are well aware, we are going to be in for another tough summer, some more than others especially in the Country regions, the ongoing drought is forcing some clubs to think about alternatives such as synthetic greens.
The newly formed VGA Committee has proposed to give Bowls Clubs another alternative other than just synthetics as an answer to their problems by compiling an Information Book. This Book would contain information such as:

All current information about the Government Grants Scheme to convert natural grass surfaces from cool season grasses to more drought tolerant warm season grasses. (A Grant not applicable to synthetics)
A basic description of construction methods including the new design at Highton Bowls Club.
A current Index and contact details of all Greenkeepers, Contractors & Turf related Companies involved in the Maintenance & Construction of Bowling Greens that wish to participate in the book.
A list of Bowls Clubs that currently have couch Greens so that interested Clubs can see these surfaces for themselves.
Provide a brief description of warm season grasses & their advantages.

The VGA Committee is about to enter into discussions with the RVBA to ask them to help support us in this venture & to include the book in one of it’s many official mail outs to all Bowls Club Secretaries throughout the state.

So we all need to pull together for our future’s sake & help get this book up and running if you are interested in having your name, company name & contact details in this book the price has been set at $150.00. To help cover printing costs, for that price you get to advertise your details in the Book & on the Internet (VGA Website) & receive state wide exposure to all Bowls Clubs.
