Text Box: Highton Bowling Club Trial
Text Box: David Sharp was very keen to seize the opportunity to meet with the new RVBA CEO
Mr. Peter Hanlon to hopefully form a better relationship between the VGA and the RVBA.
The meeting went really well and many topics were discussed. The lack of water issue was discussed and we spoke about the exciting new developments at the
Highton Bowling Club with the construction of their new Tifdwarf green using the California method containing the plastic sheet on a flat base.
David invited Peter to join us on a planned trip down to Highton to see the green and the water saving infrastructure.
President Andrew Kent was able to join us and we travelled down to Geelong to meet Highton Green keeper Dave Gudgeon who kindly showed us around the project.
More information about this water saving system will be explained at the VGA, AGM Seminar day on the 8 August 2007
It is really pleasing that Peter Hanlon is doing a great job at the bowls association and will ask for our expertise whenever they need current information.
